Great videos – seems like a solid system and it actually is what helped me finally get started. I do have a question though – do you think marketing out of area “edit only” jobs is a good idea? Do have any suggestions for just this thing?

I think it’s a great idea. If you’re more interested in editing than shooting, you really can take work from anywhere.
I didn’t talk about it in this system, because I feel like it would be a difficult way to get started. Once you’re accepting clients internationally, you have a lot more competition… so you either have to be the best or the cheapest…. and you don’t want to be the cheapest =P
I think the best way to do it would be to find one style of videos you enjoy editing, specialize in that, and then create some killer samples. That way you can reply to those craigslist adds and show that you really are the best (in your niche), and people will pay you the big bucks.
I think eventually, everyone should specialize… but I don’t suggest it starting out… especially if you plan on using my craigslist method.
